America’s Hard Rock Bet, its entire branding — you’ll forgive me if I yawn.
That was the reaction I had when I was asked to write about Hard Rock Sportsbook’s conversion to Hard Rock Bet. I yawned. Definitely figuratively; perhaps literally. But I have a job to do, so I endeavored to write about how this sportsbook that operates in New Jersey changed everything about its app, and blah-dee-blah-blah-blah.
Welp, I shouldn’t have yawned. I also shouldn’t have blah-dee-blah’ed. Why? Because as it turns out, Hard Rock Bet is, to my eye, the sleekest sportsbook app I have access to in my home state of New Jersey. Perhaps even more importantly, it is, by far, the quickest.

g in with my thumbprint takes less than a second, and that’s not hyperbole. And every single bet I’ve placed thus far has gone through in even less time.
“We’re never satisfied with our speed, and lately it’s been one of our main points of emphasis,” said Mike Primeaux, the managing director of product and technology at Hard Rock Digital. “We understand how important product speed is to our players and that it’s a differentiator among our competitors, so we take it personally and will continue to push on this front.”
To be fair, it’s not like all the other sportsbooks are running on a combination of molasses and sloth plasma, but compared to Hard Rock Bet, they’re Slowpoke Rodriguez.
There’s something about Hard Rock’s app that sets it apart from all the other sportsbook apps I have on my phone (more than 20). In short, it doesn’t look as much like a traditional sportsbook app.
“We’ve taken inspiration from and found ways to apply experiences and features from many broad consumer products such as Cash App, Uber, Robinhood, Starbucks, Nike, and Coinbase,” Primeaux said. “Online gaming has a lot of overlap in consumer patterns across a variety of industries, [so] we tend to look outside our core industry more than inside when finding inspiration to improve processes like ing s, funding s, loyalty rewards, and decreasing transactional complexity. We’re always finding inspiration for product enhancements and are committed to constantly improving our offering.”
Pricing and beautiful font 562w6p
As far as pricing goes, Hard Rock Bet is right in line with everyone else — a tick here, a tick there, but right in the mix.
“We have a trading and risk management team in-house at Hard Rock Bet,” Primeaux said. “We use a combination of third-party trading and data feeds, mixed with in-house capabilities for pricing markets like our daily specials.”
So, yes, while I’m sportsbook foibles, I would like to take this moment to point out a sportsbook victory. Good job, Hard Rock Bet.
Oh, and also: I love the font. I’m a font guy, and this font — chef’s kiss.
“Over a period of weeks of internal testing, analysis, and contemplation, we narrowed down 10 initial candidates to select our brand font Neusa Next, which can be found throughout the Hard Rock Bet experience,” said Primeaux. “From the outset, our design team recognized that the font used in the app would serve as the predominant element within our design system. With how frequently text appears in a betting app, we knew it was imperative to find a font that was not only versatile, but most importantly had a bold style that truly captured our brand.”
It’s a great font. I may change one of my kids’ names to Neusa.
