Usual Suspects Favored To Win 2024 Australian Open 151z6z

The Australian Open begins Saturday, starting the 2024 tennis Grand Slam schedule. Sports betting odds suggest the battles for the men’s and women’s titles will most likely feature familiar names.

On the men’s side, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz headline the list of top contenders for the trophy. Djokovic has won the last four Australian Opens that he’s competed in. He didn’t play in 2022, and Rafael Nadal won that year’s championship. Nadal isn’t in this year’s field.

On the women’s side, there hasn’t been a repeat winner since 2012 and 2013, when Victoria Azarenka won the titles. Aryna Sabalenka won last year, and while she’s not this year’s betting favorite, she’s close to the top. 

Alcaraz vs. Djokovic 3y2s6z

Djokovic is the favorite across multipleFanDuel. He’s +100 to win the title at that sportsbook, and if he does it would be his 11th Australian Open title and 25th Grand Slam victory. 

Alcaraz, a sensational young player, is listed at +350 to win the event. The 20-year-old has never advanced beyond the third round of the Australian Open, but he’s won a pair of Grand Slam titles, including Wimbledon last year. Alcaraz has reached the semifinals in the last four Grand Slams he’s played in, although he missed the 2023 Australian Open due to injury.

Jannik Sinner (+600) is the only other player with odds shorter than +1000 to win the event on FanDuel. In fact, Djokovic’s odds to win the entire tournament without dropping a set (+580) are shorter than Sinner’s odds of winning the tournament. Djokovic is -420 on FanDuel to make the final. 

FanDuel offers a market on either Djokovic or Alcaraz to win at -260 odds. ESPN BET offers Djokovic beating Alcaraz in the final at +350 odds.

Swiatek the women’s favorite 236r8

Four-time Grand Slam singles champion Iga Swiatek is the favorite to win the women’s event, with FanDuel and Fanatics Sportsbook listing her at +220. Last year’s champion, Sabalenka, is close behind at +430 odds on FanDuel. 

Sabalenka played arguably the best tennis of her career in 2023, winning the Australian Open and reaching at least the semifinals of all four Grand Slams. Swiatek reached just one Grand Slam final, winning the French Open. 

Coco Gauff (+470) and Elena Rybakina (+500) are other top contenders for the title, with no other competitors having odds shorter than +2400. The 19-year-old Gauff won the 2023 U.S. Open, her first Grand Slam title. 

Naomi Osaka, a two-time winner of the event, has +3600 odds to win the title.
