The Arizona Department of Gaming officially opened an 18-day window for event wagering operators to apply for available licenses on Friday.
One tribal license and “no less than one” professional sports franchise license are available in a state where online sports betting location. License application paperwork and instructions are available here.
The application window closes at 5 p.m. local time March 4. According to a schedule posted on the ADOG website, the agency will let selected applicants know if they meet the licensing qualifications on March 15.
The application window is the second in six months. In August, ADOG could have Ak-Chin Indian Community, the lone tribal license.

The ADOG can issue up to 20 event wagering licenses — 10 each for tribes and professional sports venues. There are more than 10 tribes in the state, and there have not yet been 10 professional sports teams or venues that would qualify for a license. All of the state’s pro sports entities, including Arizona’s PGA Tour and NASCAR stops and an Arena League Football team, are already licensed.
The ADOG declined to license the USL’s Phoenix Rising when licenses were initially awarded in 2021, and it is unclear if there are any other pro franchises that would meet the qualification criteria laid out in the now. Phoenix Rising appeared poised to re-apply last summer but ultimately did not.
