Notable MGC Meeting Updates 2r4l4q
At Wednesday’s agenda setting meeting, the MGC proposed Aug. 1 as the date when it will discuss meeting format and questions to ask at a future meeting about sports betting limits. A previous roundtable discussion focused on bettors being limited was skipped by major operators, which angered commissioners.
Sports betting operators have suggested they’ll attend a future meeting, which will occur at some point after the Aug. 1 planning meeting. It’s unclear whether the operators will share enough information about how they limit bettors for the discussion to prove valuable.
Additionally, commissioners shared interest Wednesday in discussing illegal gambling markets at a future date. The discussion of illegal operators figures to focus on Bovada, which has received recent cease-and-desist letters in several states.
