Kentucky, according to June figures released Thursday by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.
The England-based sportsbook accepted $15.5 million worth of wagers in June, down less than $100,000 from its Circa Sports — against whom it is competing for third all had handles of under $10 million while combining for roughly 18% of the $145.7 million in mobile handle.
That separation, coupled with a 7.8% hold, made bet365 one of only three operators — along with DraftKings — to post a seven-figure gross revenue total at $1.2 million. Bet365 has cleared $1 million in gross winnings in seven of the 10 months it has been conducting business in Kentucky.
Overall handle for June totaled $150.3 million, down 17.1% from May, and operators statewide had a collective 10.5% win rate in claiming $15.8 million in gross sports betting revenue. The state was eligible to levy taxes on $15.4 million of that, redirecting close to $2.2 million into its tax coffers.
Kentucky now has sured $2 billion in handle in its first 10 months of wagering.
FanDuel And DraftKings Tops In Revenue, Handle 404l2d
The top spots for revenue and handle were split as FanDuel took honors in the former and DraftKings the latter. FanDuel walloped the public with a 14.1% hold — its lowest in a three-month span — in claiming $6.7 million in gross revenue from $47.3 million in handle. FanDuel has posted a win rate of 9.6% or higher for seven consecutive months and cleared 14% on six occasions in that span.
DraftKings paced the group of eight mobile operators with $56.6 million worth of accepted bets, but missed a third consecutive month with a 10% hold by one-half of a percentage point. It was still good enough to reap $5.4 million in winnings as it moved past $50 million in year-to-date revenue.
Caesars was the only sportsbook with at least $1 million in handle to have a month-over-month increase in action, with the $9.1 million in bets placed up 15.5% from May. Bettors, though, knocked down its win rate five percentage points to 4.4%, which meant just $438,200 in gross revenue.
Though BetMGM finished fourth among the eight apps in June revenue with $766,900, its $8.2 million handle was down 34.9% from May. A 9.4% hold — up 3.2 percentage points — meant its revenue was practically flat.
ESPN BET endured a similar downturn in handle percentage wise as its $4.2 million handle was down slightly more than one-third. The PENN Entertainment-run sportsbook missed a double-digit hold by the slimmest of margins, finishing with $415,300 in gross revenue.
Fanatics Sportsbook had more modest declines in handle and revenue as its 8.7% hold was nearly identical to May. It edged over $4 million in handle while claiming $346,600 in revenue.

The KHRC retroactively included Circa Sports’ numbers for May in its June report and it showed a modest start for the Las Vegas-based sportsbook. It had a 5.3% hold in winning $40,300 from $763,400 in handle. Bettors had an improved performance in June, though, holding Circa to a 1.6% win rate as it kept $12,900 of the $805,800 wagered.
Circa announced Thursday that its temporary retail sportsbook at Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin will open Monday. The venue will feature three betting windows, an ADA-accessible window, five kiosks, 10 TVs and four odds boards. Kentucky will be the fifth state Circa is taking retail wagers in, along with Iowa, Illinois, and its home base in Nevada.
