Many of those 10 entities have retail presences in the state, so the lottery has already reviewed their qualifications in some capacity.

Once an applicant moves through the qualification period, it will be left to wait for about a month. Maryland’s Sports Wagering Application Review Commission isn’t scheduled to meet again until Nov. 21, when the commission plans to review the license applicants that were deemed qualified by the lottery.
If the SWARC awards an operator a license on Nov. 21, the licensees will be allowed to launch mobile sportsbooks soon after. Given those details, it appears legal mobile sportsbooks are about a month away from launching in Maryland.
Tennessee renews operator licenses 63166x
In Tennessee, the Sports Wagering Advisory Council met Monday and renewed the mobile operator licenses for a trio of major sportsbook operators: BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel. Tennessee Action 24/7 was also granted a renewed mobile license.
The renewals were straightforward, featuring minimal discussion from the SWAC .
“The renewal process is so different for our staff because we really are just in constant with all of them throughout the year,” Mary Beth Thomas, the SWAC’s executive director, said. “So it is not the same type of review that we gave for a new application. There really shouldn’t be any surprises at the renewal time.”
Financial figures in Tennessee are impressive this year, and operators in the state recorded a single-month gross revenue record ($46.3 million) in September.
“With the beginning of the football season, we have really seen an uptick, and business is booming in Tennessee,” Thomas said.
