Geolocation provider Xpoint Tuesday announced that it has secured licenses in 13 additional legal U.S. online Virginia.
Xpoint currently provides geolocation services to the exchange wagering platform Sporttrade in it had partnered with the company. Fantasy providers BettorFantasy, FlexFan, PlayStar, and Skill on the Net also use Xpoint.
“Today’s multi-licensure announcement marks a milestone in our journey and our vote of confidence in the continued growth of online gaming in the USA,” said Manu Gambhir, CEO of Xpoint. “Until now, there has only been a single geolocation provider in the industry, creating risk for operators, slowing innovation, and keeping costs high due to a lack of competition. These additional licenses are a major step forward in allowing the industry to evolve and bring the most advanced geolocation platform to market.”
In addition to Colorado, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, Xpoint added licenses in North Carolina.
Xpoint provides geolocation services for iGaming, sports betting, and fantasy operators. The company uses its Xpoint tool, which was developed specifically for use in the U.S. market, to offer compliance services and prevent fraud and spoofing.
All legal sports betting states and Ontario require that wagering operators have geofencing in place in order to prevent those outside of the legal jurisdiction from betting.
